Vivek Oberoi crossed a serious line, when on Monday, he shared a post on his Twitter handle mocking Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her relationships. In the meme, you can see Aishwarya with Salman Khan, with Vivek Oberoi and with Abhishek Bachchan and her daughter Aaradhya.

Sharing the meme on his Twitter account, Vivek wrote, “Haha! creative! No politics here….just life Credits: @pavansingh1985.”

Though, Vivek Oberoi shared the Tweet in good humour, it didn’t go down too well with the netizens. Celebs and fan base left negative and angry comments on the post, calling the meme derogatory. While some Twitter users called the joke ‘disrespectful’, other slammed the actor for discussing the personal life of four other individuals on social media. The post also attracted negative comment from Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor. Known to speak her mind, Sonam shared the meme and wrote, ‘Disgusting and classless.’

Aishwarya, prior to dating Vivek Oberoi was in a relationship with Salman Khan. That relationship too, did not end up on a good note, with Aishwarya claiming to have been physically assaulted by Salman Khan. She even turned up at an awards with her hand in a sling, thereby raising eyebrows. It was rumoured that she was manhandled by Salman Khan. The duo, till this date do not cross each other’s path. Aishwarya, who is now happily married to actor Abhishek Bachchan and has a daughter Aaradhya, avoids Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi till date.

This is utterly distasteful and one can’t help but advise public figures to not behave like internet trolls. This is extremely sexist and misogynist and it shows more of Vivek’s character than Aishwarya’s. He is leaving no stones unturned to promote his film, but this is unbecoming of him. We expected Vivek to behave more maturely at this stage in his career. While Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has maintained a silence as usual, we won’t be surprised if Abhishek Bachchan decides to take up this issue seriously. Abhishek, who has always been supportive and protective of his family, will definitely not take this insult lying down. And why should he? This tweets shows his wife in a very bad light.
