Despite Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews lashing federal ministers like Treasurer Josh Frydenberg and Health Minister Greg Hunt for “playing politics”, pressure from the top has continued.
Industry Minister Karen Andrews told Sky News this morning Mr Andrews is a “lockdown leader”, who has taken “every single opportunity” to shut businesses.

“Daniel Andrews has shown himself to be a lockdown leader. We want that to change,” she said.
“We want businesses to thrive, we want people back in jobs. Obviously that has to be done safely.
“But let’s look for opportunities to reopen, rather than take every single opportunity to shut things down.”
At yesterday’s press conference, Mr Andrews delivered a passionate offensive after being asked about a tweet from Mr Hunt that urged him to open Victoria up to match NSW.
“I’m done with this. It’s an insult to the sacrifice that Victorians have made,” the Premier said.
“Politics doesn’t work on this and I’m going to call it out from now on because there are some people who have played politics every day of this pandemic, and Victorians are sick of it.”
Mr Andrews said he was prepared for blowback when he announces the steps to ease coronavirus restrictions today.
“I’ll boldly predict that whatever I stand up here tomorrow and announce, there will be members of that federal government, some who are from Victoria but I don’t think they’re for Victoria, who will be out there saying ‘it’s not enough, you should have done more’,” he said.
“What that says to me is we’re not going to be pressured, we’re not going to be engaging in what I think is a political exercise.”
