School student swept away by waves from Cox’s Bazar beach

A school student was swept away by waves this morning after he went to the Cox’s Bazar sea beach.

Ishrar Hasnain (16), a class 10 student of Cox’s Bazar Government High School, was the son of Md Aman Ullah of Cox’s Bazar town. According to the victim’s family, Ishrar, along with his classmate Kamrul Hasan, went to Kabita Chattar point of the beach around 9:30 am.

At one stage, the two were swept away by the waves. Seeing this, lifeguards managed to save Kamrul but not Ishrar, our Cox’s Bazar correspondent reports.

Kamrul was taken to Cox’s Bazar General Hospital.

The lifeguards said a rescue operation is going on to find Ishrar.
