COLOMBO (News 1st); Former MP Ranjan Ramanayake has been transferred to the Prison Hospital affiliated with the Welikada Prison on the basis of medical treatment.
In a statement, the Prison Spokesperson Commissioner Chandana Ekanayake said that the former MP was admitted to the Karapitiya General Hospital, Galle yesterday evening (10) due to a knee injury sustained in the Angunakolapelessa Prison.
Thereafter, Ramanayake was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital, who then instructed him to be admitted to an orthopedic clinic. Therefore, he was transferred to Welikada Prison Hospital yesterday.
The Department of Prisons will continue detaining him at the Prisons Hospital until 16th November, the statement added.
