Pakistan registered a five-run win over England in a thrilling third T20I in Manchester on Tuesday.

The three-match series ended 1-1. The opening game was abandoned due to rain whereas the hosts claimed a five-wicket win in the following game.

Moeen Ali’s brilliant half-century went in vain as the Three Lions fell five runs short in chase of the 191-run target.

The all-rounder was the top scorer for the home side with 61 off 33 deliveries which included four boundaries and four maximums.

Tom Banton also played a praiseful 46-run knock off 31 deliveries which included eight glorious boundaries.

For Pakistan, left-arm pacers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Wahab Riaz claimed two wickets each.

Earlier, impressive half-centuries from debutant Haider Ali and veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez helped Pakistan set a 191-run target for England.

It was a perfect T20I debut for Haider as he went on to score 54 from 33 deliveries with the help of five boundaries and two maximums and became the first Pakistan batsman to register a half-century on debut in the shortest format of the game.

Hafeez along with the 19-year-old put on an impressive 100 runs for the third-wicket partnership.

Right-arm pacer Chris Jordan was the most successful bowler for the home team as he returned with figures of 2-29 in four overs.

The hosts headed into the fixture with an unchanged squad whereas the visitors made three changes to their playing XI.

Haider Ali came in for Iftikhar Ahmed whereas Sarfaraz Ahmed took over wicketkeeping responsibilites from Mohammad Rizwan. Pacer Mohammad Amir, who sustained an injury in the previous game, was replaced with Wahab Riaz.
