Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival is Asia’s largest film event and it has almost arrived. This year, the extravagant event is all set to be held in South Korea. The details of the films which are going to be screened at the festival have also been released and the festival will be held from June 27 through July 7. The premiere of Edgar Nito’s movie The Gasoline Thieves, will open the festival.
A total number of 288 films from over 29 countries will be screened at the tim festival, four of which happen to be Bollywood films. The Bollywood films that are all set to be screened include Gully Boy, Andhadhun and Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. A Tamil movie too is going to be screened at the festival, which happens to be the Vijay Sethupati and Samantha Akkineni starrer Super Deluxe which was released on March 29, 2019.
It is a great honour for any film to be featured at this prestigious film festival.
The Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt-starrer, Gully Boy was a big hit with the fans with its captivating storyline and enjoyable songs. Ranger Singh played the leading role of Murad Khan – Gully Boy- while Alia Bhatt played Safeena Firdausi; Gully boy’s love interest.
Andhadhun too received much attention and acclaim after audiences lauded the efforts of the cast and crew. Ayushmann Khurrana’s was highly praised by the fraternity and audiences and he did indeed do a stellar job with the role of a blind man.
Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi did extremely well at the box office post its release. Kangaroo Ranaut gave critics much to talk about with her fierce performance as she essayed the powerful role of Rani Laxmibai in the film. Kangaroo Ranaut also directed the film. The South Korean film festival is known for screening some of the world’s best movies. The jury members of the festival include Korean director Lee Eon – Hee, Japanese director Kaneko Shusuke and Korean actress Uhm Junghwa.
