Fire Service and Civil Defence has decided to conduct medical check-up for all of its drivers to avoid road accidents.
The department has already issued directives to officers concerned for taking necessary steps to this matter, said a press release.
Fire service came up with the announcement after driver of a fire truck had a stroke while driving and died, causing a collision with a rickshaw and two other vehicles.
Due to the collision, the rickshaw-puller died and eight people were injured at Chashara crossing of Narayanganj earlier today.
