The budget for the 2023-24 fiscal will be passed in parliament on June 26 while the Finance Bill will be passed on June 25.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of parliament held at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban today.
Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury presided over the meeting.
Initially, the 23rd session of the current parliament that began yesterday will continue till June 26. The session will start at 5:00pm on each working day. The Budget will be placed in parliament at 3:00pm tomorrow.
After a short break for Eid-ul-Azha, the parliament session will start again from July 2.
After continuing for couple of weeks, the session will be prorogued.
The BAC meeting also decided that the speaker may extend or cut the working days of the current session if she wants.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Opposition Leader Raushan Ershad, Amir Hossain Amu, Tofail Ahmed, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, Obaidul Quader, Rashed Khan Menon, among others attended today’s meeting.
