Police recovered the unidentified body of a young boy in Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj today.

Ataur Rahman, inspector of Rupganj Police Station, said locals spotted the body of the boy in a field in Pitalganj area this morning and informed police.

He said the boy was around 10 years old.

Later, the law enforcers recovered the body, dressed in black shorts and a white-black striped t-shirt, around 10:00am, the inspector told our Narayanganj correspondent.

The body was sent to the Narayanganj General (Victoria) Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police found marks of injury on the neck and eyes of the child.

“We suspect the child was strangulated to death with a rope tied around his neck. We are investigating this,” said inspector Ataur.

The process of filing a case in this regard was underway, the police official added.
