The fire that broke out at Barishal Plaza near Bangabazar this morning has been brought under control.
Fourteen firefighting units brought the blaze under control at 8:45am, said Rafi Al Faruk, duty officer of the fire service.
The fire was reported on the third floor of the market at 8:05am, he said, adding that the first unit of the fire service reached the spot at 8:06am.
The cause of the fire could not be known immediately, he said, adding that no casualties have been reported so far.
Earlier on April 4, a massive fire broke out at Bangabazar market which also spread to six nearby markets. The fire was doused yesterday at 9:30am — more than 75 hours after it broke out early Tuesday.
