With Hrithik Roshan being the latest one to don the hat of being a teacher in Super 30, we thought about looking back at performers who nailed their acts as teachers. Aamir Khan stepped up as a director for the first time in Taare Zameen Par. He did not only direct but also played the central part in the film that was about a young boy suffering from Dyslexia and how Aamir being his teacher helped him through. The film showed the importance of a helpful teacher who understands his students rather than imposing one’s views on them. TZP was a huge hit and struck a chord with the masses instantly.

Sushmita Sen as Chandni Chopra in Main Hoon Naa

The only thought that comes to mind when Sushmita Sen from Farah Khan’s Main Hoo Naa is mentioned is of her strutting through the corridors of the college in stunning chiffon sarees. Well, it reminded the audience perfectly about the time they had a crush on a teacher and how. Shah Rukh Khan and Sushmita Sen’s chemistry in the film was blazing, though her influence as a chemistry teacher wasn’t too much, the character was surely a hit with the masses.

Rani Mukerji and Amitabh Bachchan’s stellar acts in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Black can never really be forgotten. Amitabh slowly teaches Rani Mukerji everything from trying to talk to understanding life better as she plays a visually impaired girl. Big B won several hearts with his heartwarming act of being the most patient teacher in the film and that’s why it makes it to our top picks.

Boman Irani as Viru Sahastrabudhhe in 3 Idiots

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film was a super hit. Based on Chetan Bhagat’s book Three Mistakes of My Life, the film starred Aamir Khan, R Madhavan and Sharman Joshi along with Kareena Kapoor Khan. But apart from the lead characters one character that stood out throughout the film was of Kareena’s dad Viru Sahastrabudde played by Boman Irani. The blunt dean cum professor of the college goes through a fantastic character graph as he watches his most annoying student taking up responsibility in a time of distress. Boman truly aced his act in the film and is one of the most memorable teachers from Bollywood for sure.

Archana Puran Singh as Ms Braganza in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

Ms Braganza Aha! Who doesn’t know her background score every time she walked into college in Karan Johar’s Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Archana Puran Singh’s short skirts, well tucked in top and a blazer became a massive trend post the film. She totally won the heart of everyone who went to catch this blockbuster on the big screen. Though the teacher is seen giving lessons on love, we just couldn’t digest the fact that we weren’t given any during college. Other than that, this one was a winner.
