Youth guns down, one receives bullet wound in Brahmanbaria

Unidentified gunmen shot dead one and injured another in Brahmanbaria’s Nabinagar upazila last night.

The deceased, Badal Sarkar (23), son of Santosh Sarkar, was a resident of Nandura village of the upazila, reports our Brahmanbaria correspondent quoting Mollah Mohammad Shahin, additional superintendent of Police (Administration and Crime) of Brahmanbaria.

The other man who also received bullet wound was identified as Ershad, son of incumbent Natghar UP Chairman Abul Kashem, the police official said.

Badal died on the spot while critically injured Ershad was taken to Dhaka for better treatment.

Abul Kashem, incumbent chairman of Natghar Union Parishad said, Badal and his son Ershad were shot by some miscreants while they were returning home on a motorbike from a Mahfil at Kurighar Bazar.

On information, police rushed to the spot, the police officer said, adding that police are trying to nab those involved in the incident.
