The body of an unidentified youth has been recovered from a jute field in Budhar Banshertal area of Mahendranagar union in Lalmonirhat Sadar upazila.

On information, police recovered the body yesterday morning, reports our correspondent quoting Shah Alam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station.

A bag full of clothes was recovered from the spot, said the OC. He said no injury mark was found on the body.

The man might have been strangled to death, the OC said, adding that the body was sent to the morgue of Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital for autopsy.

The OC further said they are trying to ascertain the identity of the victim and details regarding the incident using digital devices.
