Police yesterday recovered the bodies of a woman and her two daughters from a house at Khailasherghona village at Eidgaon upazila of Cox’s Bazar.
The deceased were Jisan Akhtar (25), wife Shahidul Haque, her daughters Saifa Rashid Jabin (5) and Saifa Rashid Jerin (2), reports our Cox’s Bazar correspondent quoting Md Abdul Halim, officer-in-charge of Eidgaon Police Station.
“The bodies were sent to Cox’s Bazar District Sadar Hospital for autopsies”, he said.
“On information, police went to the spot and found the door locked from inside. The bodies of two children were lying on a bed in a room while the woman’s body was hanging from a ceiling fan in the same room,” said the OC.
“A team of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) visited the crime scene and completed preliminary investigation,” added the police official.
According to locals, the deceased’s husband Shahidul Haque is an established businessman. He is in Moheskhali for a business purpose.
Locals said they never heard of any dispute between the Shahidul and Jisan.
