An SSC examinee was hacked to death and two others injured by miscreants in Thakurgaon’s BSCIC Industrial area yesterday evening.
The deceased Mehdi (16) was an SSC examinee of Thakurgaon Govt Boys High School, reports our local correspondent quoting Tanbirul Islam, officer-in-charge of Thakurgaon Sadar Police Station.

The injured Arman and Gafil are undergoing treatment at Thakurgaon Modern Sadar Hospital, said the OC.
“Mehdi’s body has been kept at the hospital morgue for an autopsy,” the police official said
Md Jewel, father of Arman said his son, niece Galif and neighbour Mehdi went out from the house to have tea at Shamim’s tea stall, adjacent to BSCIC Industrial area.
When they were returning home, miscreants intercepted them and beat them up indiscriminately, he said, adding that at one stage, the miscreants started hacking Mehdi.
“When my son Arman came forward to save Mehdi, the miscreants also hacked my son Arman,” said Jewel.
“Hearing them scream, locals came to the scene while the miscreants fled,” he said. Later, Arman called him over the phone and informed the matter.
Locals rescued them and took them to Thakurgaon Modern Sadar Hospital where Mehdi was declared dead
Mossammat Sabrina, on-duty doctor of the hospital said, “Mehdi was hacked with something sharp. He died due to excessive bleeding”.
On information, police went to the spot. We are trying to arrest the perpetrators involved in the incident, said OC Tanbirul.
“A case is being filed over the incident,” he added.
