Special ‘COVID-19 Vaccination week’ declared

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Health has taken steps to declare a special COVID-19 vaccination week from Tuesday (11) to the 17th January.

Director General of Health, Specialist Dr. Asela Gunawardena said that instructions have been given to set up four more vaccination centers in each Medical Officer of Health office to facilitate the vaccination process.

Moreover, vaccination centers at hospitals have been instructed to be kept open until 08:00 p.m. 

Dr. Gunawardena, speaking further, stated that if anyone is unable to obtain the vaccine, they can contact the closest MOH office, and facilitate obtaining the vaccine for themselves. 

Additionally, mobile vaccination service vehicles will be deployed to inoculate those in apartments as well, the Director General of Health Services stated.
