COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Customs arrested a South African National who flew to Sri Lanka from Nairobi, Kenya via Qatar on Sunday (09).

The South African national was arrested upon arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport for the possession of over 02 kilograms of cocaine concealed inside two shampoo bottles in his luggage.

The value of the cocaine is north of Rs. 60 Mn, said the Spokesperson for Sri Lanka Customs.

The suspect will be handed over to the Police Narcotic Bureau adding it remains on alret to foil smuggling attempts despite the pandemic crippling operations across the world.
