Legendary actor Dilip Kumar was admitted to Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai yesterday after he had complained of breathlessness. While prayers for his speedy recovery were conducted all across the country with Twitter trending his name for more than 24 hours now, his wife, actress Saira Banu has confirmed that the actor is stable now. Saira told a news portal that Kumar had been unwell for a few days now and hence, he had gotten admitted into a non-COVID hospital. She went on to add that the doctors were examining why the actor had complained about breathlessness and had a mild fever as well. Signing off, Banu urged everyone to pray for the 98-year-old star’s well-being.
Yesterday, following much speculation about his health, she had also taken to Kumar’s official Twitter handle to rubbish the rumours doing the rounds on social media. “Don’t believe in WhatsApp forwards. Saab is stable. Thank you for your heart-felt duas and prayers. As per doctors, he should be home in 2-3 days. Insh’Allah,” she had tweeted. According to media reports, the Mughal-E-Azam actor was diagnosed with bilateral pleural effusion along with a drop in oxygen saturation. Hence, he had been put under oxygen support.
