COLOMBO (News 1st); Former President Maithripala Sirisena says that sacrifices must be made and steps must be taken for all citizens to make a unanimous decision to develop the economy of Sri Lanka.
Pointing out that the Russia-Ukraine conflict could have lasting repercussions on the nation, evident by the rise of the price of an oil barrel, the former President said that world leaders are attempting to initiate a number of conflicts.
Emphasizing that positions or power are unimportant at the moment, the former President said that steps must be taken to assist those who are suffering due to a number of issues.
“Do not underestimate the problems that the country is facing now. These will lead to serious repercussions. The government and representatives of all parties must sit together and discuss a solution to these issues,” he added.
