Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is firm and that is why both organisational and administrative actions were taken against perpetrators involved in the killing of Buet student Abrar Fahad.

The leader is firm in her stance and that is why around nine people have been arrested in connection with the killing, Quader, also the general secretary of Awami League told reporters at the AL President’s office in Dhanmondi, Dhaka.

“Not only have nine people been arrested, around 11 people have been expelled from Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on instructions from high-level,’’ Quader added.

The administration is aware of Sheikh Hasina’s firm stance against any criminal activities regardless of their affiliation which is why the administration has taken steps swiftly, Quader further said.

Buet student Abrar Fahad, was beaten to death allegedly by Bangladesh Chhatra League activists of the university unit yesterday night.
