Snow came down over Manhattan on December 2, the second day of snowfall in New York, New York. Further upstate, local reports said that cities and towns such as Albany, Schenectady, and Rensselaer could expect up to 26 inches of snow. Governor Andrew Cuomo declared a state of emergency for Albany, Columbia, Greene, Rensselaer, Schenectady, Saratoga, and Ulster Counties on December 2 due to the heavy snowfall.
