COLOMBO (News 1st) News 1st bagged multiple accolades at the 2020 State Television Awards held on Monday (29).
Rajendran Kogulnath won the award for the Most Outstanding Tamil Cultural Program.
Rajalingam Thrishano won the award for the Most Outstanding Tamil Sports Program.
TV1’s Bernadine Jayasinghe won the award for the Most Outstanding English Presenter.
Rasathurai Jeyaruban won the award for the Most Outstanding Tamil News Report.
Manoj Ratnayake won the awards for Most Outstanding English and Sinhala Trailers.
Sanchara (සංචාර) with Rohan Direkz produced by Sirasa TV won the Jury’s Special Award at the State Television Awards Ceremony 2020.
Shakthi TV also won several awards, at the State Television Awards Ceremony 2020 held at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo.

The ‘Talk With Chathura’ programme hosted by Chatura Alwis and produced by Ada Derana has won the award for the Most Outstanding Talk Show Programme.
Derana also won the awards for Most Outstanding TV Trailer, as well as Most Outstanding Multi-camera Production for “Dream Star Grand Finale – Season 08”.
Ada Derana news presenter Wasanthi Nanayakkara has also won the award for Most Outstanding News Anchor.
Live @ 8 (Swarnavahini) won the award for Most Outstanding Investigative News Reporting.
Indrasiri Suraweera of the ITN won the award for Most Outstanding Television Presenter.
ITN also won several other awards at the State Television Awards.
