Nationwide Covid vaccine booster dose after updating Surokkha app

Administering Covid-19 vaccine booster dose will begin across the country after updating the registration app “Surokkha”, Health Minister Zahid Maleque said today.

“Surokkha app needs to be updated if the government wants to give booster dose everywhere. We have already informed the ICT ministry. They are working on it. They have informed that they will be able to get it done by the end of this month,” the minister said while talking to media today.

“We have prepared a system for those who are eligible for the Covid-19 booster vaccine. People above 60 and frontline workers will get booster dose if they come to the centres with their vaccination cards. We will provide booster doses to doctors, nurses, health workers, members of different forces and media workers,” the minister said.

A policy has been prepared on booster dose, which will be shared with the media in a day or two, he said.

DGHS will provide details about the booster dose, the minister said. 

About Omicron variant, the minister said measures have been taken to detect cases.
