Members of Aviation Security (Avsec) detained a man with a large amount of Saudi riyals at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport yesterday.

Group Captain AHM Touhid-Ul Ahsan, executive director of the airport, confirmed the matter told The Daily Star.

The Saudi currency was found inside a consignment meant for export to Singapore during a security screening at the cargo village of the airport around 8:20pm yesterday, said the executive director.

Later, Avsec member Gazi Kaium detained the man, Md Hasan Ali, along with the Saudi riyals, added Touhid-Ul Ahsan.
