Man dies after being stabbed in Kamalapur

A man was stabbed to death in Dhaka’s Kamalapur area last night.

The incident happened in South Kamalapur Bazar Road area around 11:00pm, said Md Mizanur Rahman, sub-inspector of Motijheel Police Station.

The man, who appeared to be in his mid-20s, could not be immediately identified, the SI said. He was found lying on the road with stab injures and later taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where doctors declared him dead around 11:45pm, the SI added.

“We primarily came to know that the youth was a homeless person in the area. Another young man, who was staying with him, carried out the attack. We have found stab wounds on his abdomen, back and hands,” said SI Mizanur Rahman.

Police are looking into the murder and the body was sent to the DMCH morgue for autopsy, added the police official.
