After winning the toss and opting to bat first Royal Challengers (RCB) posted runs after their first innings against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their first match of the UAE-leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 at the Shiekh Zayed Stadium. All the RCB batsmen failed to perform as earlier KKR pacers and then mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy didn’t let the batters to fire. Chakravarthy ended his four overs with the figures of 3/13, Russell also got three wickets and, apart from them Lokie Ferguson, got two wickets and Prasidh Krishna got one wicket. Bharat was the part of the Indian Test side last month in England and that confidence of sharing the dressing room with senior players of the national set up might have helped the youngster.

David Hussey says two KKR players Are “about to shock the world”
David Hussey, chief mentor of KKR, has hailed Shubman Gill and Nitish Rana for their displays for the team. The KKR opening duo is crucial to the franchise’s ambitions in the UAE this year. Hussey said that the duo can “shock the world” with their displays. Speaking to kkr.in during a pre-season interview, Hussey said, “Both quality players. Both quality people too. They are both determined to do very well for this team and themselves. Both have had a taste of international cricket and I think they are about to shock the world that they are the next generation of Indian players.”
“Not just for one or two series. They are there for a decade, long time. If they get going, look out for us at the IPL”, he further added.

Virat Kohli will be without Adam Zampa, Kane Richardson, Daniel Sams. The trio have pulled out of the remaining games. They have been replaced by Dushmantha Chameera, Wanindu Hasaranga and Tim David.

Virat Kohli to step down from RCB captaincy after IPL 2021
Kohli said, “It has been a great and an inspiring journey, captaining a talented bunch of players in the RCB squad. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the RCB management, coaches, support staff, players, and the entire RCB family, who have been instrumental in the growth of the franchise over the years.”
“It wasn’t an easy decision but one that has been well thought of and in the best interest of this wonderful franchise. The RCB family remains close to my heart as we continue to strive to achieve excellence. As I have mentioned previously in many occasions, I will only play for RCB until my retirement from the game of cricket”, he further added.
He also recently announced that he would step down from Team India’s T20I captaincy after the T20 World Cup.
