On Monday, Harnaaz Sandhu was crowned as Miss Universe 2021 and she brought the crown back to India after 21 years. On this occasion, she received congratulatory messages from all the esteemed personalities of the country, right from the Prime Minister to many Bollywood stars.
Lara Dutta, who was crowned Miss Universe 2000, also took to social media to congratulate her and wrote words of praise for her. Lara shared a picture of Harnaaz and captioned it , “My dearest @harnaazsandhu_03 , when I spoke to you yesterday, you promised me that ‘it will be worth it’!! YOU are worth all your triumphant glory and much, much more!! You had an unshakeable belief in yourself and JUST KNEW, you were born for this!! You were born in the year I won Miss Universe!!!. That’s how long we’ve waited for you to come along and lift that crown once more for India!!”
“Perhaps, it was destined!!. I know what lies in store for you, and I wish you a glorious reign!! May this only be the start of the heights you will scale! God bless you, my heartiest congratulations to your parents and family! The universe now, is your oyster- OUR STAR!,” she added.
On Monday as well, as soon as Harnaaz was crowned, Lara tweeted and welcomed her to the club. “Congratulations Harnaaz Sandhu!!!! Welcome to the club!!! We’ve waited 21 long years for this!!! You make us SO SO proud!!! A billion dreams come true!!!,” wrote Lara.
Miss Universe 1994, Sushmita Sen, who is also the first-ever Indian to win the pageant, congratulated Harnaaz. Sharing pictures of the new Miss Universe, Sushmita wrote, “#yehbaat ‘Har Hindustani Ki Naz’ Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu #MissUniverse2021 #INDIAAAAAA Soooooo proud of you!!!!
