Jennifer Lopez is one of the most iconic celebrities in the world right now. However, the star‘s career trajectory could have been very different had she taken another path. The actress was recently seen gracing the cover of W Magazine, wherein she revealed some of the things she had to do or considering doing when she was just starting out in the industry. She added that these thoughts came because there was a time in her life when her friends, who were also dancers, advised her about how to make quick money.

Jennifer shared, “There was a moment in my life when my friends, who were also dancers, told me about making thousands of dollars at clubs in New Jersey. They said, ‘You won’t need to be topless.’ It sounded awfully good when I was broke and eating pizza every day, but I never did it.” But the singer didn’t plan to go down that road and now she is one of the most successful stars in the world. She has now also cemented herself as one of Hollwood’s power players. However, she still plays the role of a dancer Ramona in her recently released film, Hustlers.

Jennifer was also recently named one of People magazine’s People of the Year. Talking about the title, she concluded, “It just shows you that dreams come true. But you have to work at it and not give up. The key is the not giving up part. For me, it’s not a choice. You can’t stop. I feel more confident and at peace with who I am and more aware of what I bring to the table, but that was a huge journey. When you find you, really find you, that’s when everything starts falling into place.” The star will be making an appearance at the Golden Globes Ceremony on January 5.
