After losing early wickets in the first game of the UAE-leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 Chennai Super Kings (CSK) got to a competitive first innings score of 156/6. Mumbai Indians need 157 runs to register their fifth victory of the season. CSK were reduced to 25/4 but later all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and young opener Rutturaj Gaikwad put on an 81-run partnership for the fifth wicket that guided the team to a fighting total. Gaikwad got 88 runs from 58 balls and was hitting all-around the park vs MI bowlers. MI without Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya have a tough job to do in the second innings. CSK are currently second on the IPL 2021 Points Table and registered five wins and two defeats before the season was postponed.
