COLOMBO (News 1st); The strike launched by 17 health trade unions on 02nd March continues on for the second day today (03).

Ravi Kumudesh, the convener of Health Professionals’ Federation, stated that the strike will be active in all but 10 hospitals island wide.

The strike which commenced at 8:00 a.m. on 02nd March reportedly disrupted the issuance of medicines, laboratory tests, radiation tests, patient and care services in wards and units in Government hospitals.

Public health inspectors have also retired from their daily duties while and family health workers have done the same.

Public were sighted severely affected due to the disruption of hospital activities.
