Former conservative speaker Bronwyn Bishop says Senator Pauline Hanson is sending a message to the Liberal party: ‘Don’t take me for granted.’

The Coalition’s plan to crackdown on the union sector has been stymied in the Senate after Ms Hanson and her One Nation colleague Malcolm Roberts joined with Labor and the Greens to vote down the Ensuring Integrity Bill on Thursday.

“She’s seen Jacqui Lambie getting a lot of attention and she’s not getting so much,” Ms Bishop told Sky News host Paul Murray.

“I think this is a matter between Pauline and the government and it’s a question of not wanting to be taken for granted on every bill.”
