Golden Globe Awards 2020: All You Need To Know About The Ceremony Tonight


The 77th Golden Globe Awards ceremony will be taking place tonight in Los Angeles, California. Presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), these awards will honour the best in film and television for 2019. English stand-up comedian, actor and filmmaker Ricky Gervais will be hosting the ceremony for the fifth time. Celebrities who will be presenting the awards include nominees Daniel Craig, Margot Robbie, Rami Malek, Scarlett Johansson, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Charlize Theron, among others. The films which have received the highest number of nominations include Marriage Story (6), Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood (5), The Irishman (5), Joker (4) and The Two Popes (4). Netflix has a total of 17 nominations in both film and television categories, strengthening the streaming service’s position as a content creator. 

Around 1,300 guests are expected to attend the ceremony this year. Due to concerns surrounding climate change, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has decided to offer guests a plant-based feast for dinner at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The awards ceremony will be aired live on NBC.
