When it comes to talking about some of the biggest hit TV shows of all time, Game of Thrones is one that is bound to make the list now. The eight-season series aired its finale earlier this year and put the cast on the limelight. The likes of Emilia Clarke, who essayed Daenerys Targaryen in the show, went on to star in some of the biggest projects after Game of Thrones – changing her life for the better. Now, there is yet another actor whose life took a turn thanks to the HBO show.
Rory McCann who essayed The Hound – also known as Sandor Clegane – was homeless before he was cast in Game of Thrones. According to Metro UK, it was impossible for the actor to even think that he would become one of the highest-paid stars in the world. Speaking at a Game of Thrones Reunion Special, Rory shared that his life was very different from what it is now. He told the host, Conan O’Brien, “Two years ago I was in a tent – literally in a tent – stealing food occasionally. Eventually I got a job and sorted myself out, but then suddenly I’m getting driven around in a nice car in the biggest and best show in the world; just shows how your fortunes can change. Amazing.”

The star – which is adored by fans of the show – continued, “I managed to go back there and pay my library fines.” We’re glad the actor’s life changed, thanks to the show. While the finale season of the show wasn’t loved by fans, many were glad that they finally got to witness the Clegane brothers battle it out in the Cleagane Bowl. Sandor, along with Sir Gregor Clegane fought long and hard against the backdrop of a burning King’s Landing, before both fell to their death in the flames.
