Vendors put hundreds of curd pots on display from early morning. Every year, curd and yogurt manufacturers from all over the country come here with boxes of curd or “doi”, many of which may be unheard of to most. Khasha, Kheer Khasha, Kheersha, Bogura doi, Sreepuri doi, and many other varieties can be found here.
The “Doi Mela” is organised in Sadar and Tarash upazilas of Sirajganj district on the occasion of Saraswati Puja. Legend says that this mela was first introduced by Tarash Jamindar Banwari Lal Roy Bahadur about two and half centuries ago.
