The annual conference of the deputy commissioners’ (DCs) is scheduled to begin on January 18.
Earlier the three-day-long conference was expected to be held on January 11, but was later deferred, confirmed a top official of the Cabinet Division.
“We’ve got a letter in this regard from the Prime Minister’s Office today,” he said.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is supposed to inaugurate the conference.
Due to the pandemic, the conference could not take place in 2020 and 2021. It was last held in July 2019.
DCs Conference is an annual meeting of the heads of districts with policymakers of the government aimed at discussing policy matters and development strategies to gear up the field level administration.
