Two hundred people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The total number of deaths due to coronavirus infection in the country now stands at 18,325 and the death rate stands at 1.62 percent.
Meanwhile, at least 11,579 new infections were recorded during the period, taking the total number of people infected to 11,28,879, added the release.
The current positivity rate is 29.31 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 15.38 percent.
A total of 39,510 samples were tested across the country during the 24 hours.
At least 9,997 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 9,51,340 and the recovery rate at 84.27 percent.
Among the 200 deceased, 111 were men and 89 were women.
Of them, one was between 11-20 years old, six were within 21-30, 12 between 31-40, 27 within 41-50, 48 between 51-60, 62 within 61-70, 35 between 71-80, eight between 81-90, and one was within 91-100 years old, added the release.
