“The climate and environment of the foreign animals’ home country are not similar to ours which is why they are being infected with diseases,” the minister said when asked about the deaths of zebras and other animals at Gazipur Safari Park.

“A disease killed the zebras. Similarly, zoo animals are dying after contracting various diseases, according to lab reports. Diseases, not negligence, are to blame for the deaths,” said the minister.

“We are also looking into the matter to see if there is any negligence on our part. Besides, we are working to ensure that these animals are safe. Different ministries are collaborating to ensure that no wildlife is killed and the environment and climate are not harmed,” he said.
