4 killed as car CNG cylinder explodes in Mymensingh

Four people, including two women, were killed and five injured after the gas cylinder of the microbus they were on exploded in Rangamati area of Mymensingh’s Trishal upazila early today.

The deceased could not be identified immediately, reports our local correspondent quoting Md Abu Bakar Siddique, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Trishal Police Station.

The OC said the victims were on their way to Dhaka from Mymensingh’s Dhobaura upazila.

The microbus caught fire around 2:00am today after its gas cylinder exploded, following which the vehicle fell into a roadside ditch as the driver lost control of the vehicle, said the OC.

The four were killed on the spot.

Five injured persons were rushed to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH). On information, police and members of Trishal Fire Service and Civil Defence recovered the bodies, said the OC.

The bodies are kept at the police station, added the OC.
