COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka recorded a total of 2,420 COVID-19 cases on Monday (02), reported the Department of Government Information.

2,382 of these cases were from the Post-Avurudu Outbreak while the other 38 were those who tested positive for the coronavirus after returning from overseas.

Accordingly, a total of 28,393 COVID-19 patients are receiving treatment in hospitals of the 313,769 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Sri Lanka.

In addition, the Director General of Health Services confirmed that 63 COVID-19 deaths were reported on Sunday (01).

The total number of COVID-19 fatalities in Sri Lanka thus increased to 4,571.
