Two people were crushed under the wheels of separate trains in the capital’s Kuril area.
One of the deceased was identified as Al Amin Mollah, 25, of Shariatpur and the other person is unidentified aged around 18.
Al Amin was an expatriate in Saudi Arabia. He was supposed to fly for Saudi Arabia around 2:00 pm, said his nephew Md Farhad Hossain.
He was walking through the rail tracks at Kuril Biswa Road in the morning while going to the airport. But a train hit him from backside, Farhad said.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
Airport Railway Station Police Outpost Assistant Sub-Inspector Sanu Mang confirmed the deaths.
The unidentified teenager was killed at Kuril around 6 am as another train hit him, the ASI said.
The bodies were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
